" three, as far as i know," She murmurs back," You, me and..." She makes a disgusted face," the Spider,"

"Oh? How many demons do we nobles have?" Ciel inquired.

" Indeed," she muses softly, gazing back at Ciel," It seems as if us nobles are having more demons than those we rule over."

"Your butler," Ciel Phantomhive replied, one eyebrow quirking upward. So Lady Ella had a demon butler as well...Seems they were common among nobles.

Ella smiles vaguely," Phantomhive, i see you spotted my butler Dmitri, i suppose he's gotten all the information," Her green gaze resting on her butler, an affectionate smiles playing on her lips, almost as if she was gazing at a favored pet," Its so much easier to gather secrets now, i dont have to act like the innocent little girl any more."

Ciel watched her, though his expression remained impassive, "It wasn't my hands that birds need to watch out for," he murmured, spinning her again, "But lucky for you, most dogs do not kill for no reason."

His sapphire eye darted around the room, probably searching for his black clad butler. Instead, he noticed Dmitri. He probably wouldn't have noticed him had he not been used to the nature of demonic butlers.

" Tell me, Dear Ciel," she cooes softly," Have you ever caught a sparrow with your bare hands? Sensitivity to their surroundings as well as vigiliance has helped many a sparrow escape disaster." Ella glances around as they dance, her eyes resting on a rather well fee looking priest," Birds were never meant for battles, merely gathering information to allow those onthe field to have a greater chance of surviving." She turns her green gaze back to him and smiles somewhat sadly at Ciel

"Maybe not outwit," Ciel narrowed his eyes, "But when they get ahold of one, birds' necks snap easily."

" i've never head of a dog outwitting a bird before," she answers with a pleasant smile

"I don't know of a dog to lose to a bird," Ciel scoffed.

" Indeed," she muses softly," but in the end of this fairytale.... Who will come out above the other?" She challenges playfully though there seems to be a slightly mocking undertone

The Earl snorted lightly, twirling them both around, "A children's tale, indeed. The lesson should simply be that you can trust no one in this world."

" And so," she laugs softly," It seems as if we can, i think the Queen would be pleased indeed." Ella smirks slightly," The Dog and the Bird, sounds like one of those children's stories that SHOULD have some kind of life lesson in it.."

Ciel smirked lightly, "Dancing doesn't make us friends. It merely means we can tolerate one another."

Ella leans foreward slightly murmuring," I do too, but i do not want people to think of us as rivals. They will pounce on that oppurnity, and i have enough flies to swat as is. If they see us as enemies.. Well...." She rolls her eyes visably only to him

"I just hate dancing," Ciel muttered as the music started and they moved in time with it.

Ella places her hand around his shoulders and murmurs gently," Its not so bad, Earl Phantomhive, we just have to give ease to the people and the Queen, yes?"

Ciel led her out onto the dance floor, placing one hand on her hip and holding her hand in the other.

Ella curtsied back and took his arm politely, though she usually strayed from social rules, just for now she would obey

The Earl Phantomhive bowed stiffly and offered his arm the way a gentleman should.

" I'm a rule breaker," She muses quietly," But very well," Her hands went behind her back in a graceful gesture as she curtsies

He scowled, "I'm supposed to offer you my arm."

Ella laughs quietly," Just to satisfy the rivals yes?" She offers him her hand

He grumbled and stood up, "Very well, if I must."

Ella laughs softly," Ah well, this IS a social event, we must endure," She smiles mischiviously
